John brings to the team many years of experience in retail, photography,
graphic arts and a passion for all things digital. He was surfing the net as soon as it was publicly
available when AOL first connected in 1994.
“From the day I got connected, I was hooked.
I knew this was the next really big thing!”
He began building websites a number of years
ago when a small non-profit group needed a website.
“Producing a website that the whole world
could see really got me hooked! Photography, graphic arts, retail selling and marketing... it all comes
together on the Internet!”
John learned photography from his father in childhood and joined a college camera club in the 70's but
learned computers in the late 80's from a graphic artist on Macs working on member directories, advertising and other
print projects. John finished a degree in Networking Technologies and a certification in Linux Administration from St. Pete College. He continues his studies with tutoring in server-side programing. This unusual combination of skills
and experience brings a depth of skill and knowledge to the team to serve our client's needs for internet
presence and on line marketing. John is the primary developer of our visitor analyzer products and webmaster for
all of Kratos Websites's clients.

Writing computer code by hand has been the way of programmers since the 60's. No code generating software has truly taken the place of knowing the code. We believe that there is no such thing as a professional web designer or application engineer who does not know the real code that makes it work.
All our web work is written by hand. We not only understand the code that browsers and the internet run on, we write it with text editors... not code generating software. Doesn't that make sense? How much would you trust a painter who has never lifted a brush or ever gotten his hands dirty preparing a room for paint?
Yet sadly, so many people buy a web generating software such as Dreamweaver or Expression Web and suddenly they are a "Web Designer". Too often they have no more clue how website really works than I do how the space shuttle works. But business flock to them and lay down their hard earned money at the feet of amateurs. Why? Because most people are so overwhelmed by technology that anyone who seems to know more than they do must be an "expert". Too many businesses do not take their web presence seriously.
When your web presence is your reputation, don't trust the "script kiddies" get a professional.
All our products are hand coded. It may cost a little extra but it's not as expensive as you might think.
James Bennett consults with both Kratos Websites and Kratos Productions in areas of practical organization, financial operations and technological development. To his credit are such projects as flight control software for NASA, database management for national corporations, custom desktop software, account processing software for a European bank, and independant internet consulting for many corporate clients. His 28 years of desktop, server programming and business management experience lends a solid base to the business of our client's internet presence. James has worked with several start-up companies and guided them to muti-million dollar operations.
James fears no project or challenge. He has been heard to say, “If you think your project is hard, give it to some one else, if you think it's impossible... give it to me!” No website or feature request is too big for James to guide the team's talents to successful completion.
James is the technical writer for the tutorial website, james on the net, and contributor of many of the custom technologies used in our websites. “It is a pleasure for me to work with this talented Kratos team.”
